Frequently asked questions

Is this group appropriate for all people?

This group is designed for individuals who are ready to explore how purity-based or shame-based sexual teachings have shaped their beliefs and experiences.

Because this is a structured educational and process-oriented group (not individual trauma therapy), it may not be appropriate for those with significant, untreated sexual trauma. Individuals with a history of sexual abuse who have not yet received support from a licensed mental health professional are encouraged to pursue individual therapy before participating in a group setting.

If you are unsure whether this group is a good fit for your situation, I welcome you to reach out prior to enrolling.

Is this an overtly Christian group? What does faith-honoring mean?

This group will reference religious and political history, but will not provide any explicit application of Scripture.

When I describe my products as faith-honoring, I am referring to one of two intentional approaches:

• Explicitly faith-integrated resources

Some products clearly and directly engage Christian theology and Scripture. This is transparent in the title, description, and content (e.g., references to God, Christian marriage, or biblical texts). These resources intentionally connect research with Christian beliefs.

• Research-grounded resources that honor faith and conscience

Other products are rooted in clinical research, neuroscience, and sexology, without mention of Scripture or theological reference points. These are described as faith-honoring because they: Make space for diverse Christian convictions, do not shame or pressure individuals to violate their beliefs, avoid explicit or pornographic content, emphasize consent, agency, and personal discernment, distinguish education from endorsement

Can I withdrawal after the group starts?

All participants are encouraged to attend each session, as meetings will not be recorded in order to protect the privacy and confidentiality of the group.

Participants may choose to withdraw at any time; however, refunds will not be issued once enrollment is confirmed.

Is this group co-ed?

Yes. This group is open to both men and women.

Purity-based sexual teachings impact all genders — often differently, but deeply. Creating a space where both men and women can examine the scripts they were given allows for a fuller, more honest conversation about how those teachings shaped desire, responsibility, shame, and power.

That said, this is a structured, professionally facilitated therapeutic group. Safety, respect, and confidentiality are foundational. Participation guidelines are clearly outlined to ensure that all members feel secure and supported.

If you have specific concerns about whether this space is a good fit for you, you’re welcome to reach out before enrolling.
